On a beautiful day at Watchland, Franck Muller was delighted to welcome WRC2 rally driver Diego Dominguez to its headquarters for an exclusive private visit, bringing together the worlds of high watchmaking and high-performance motorsport.

Upon arrival, Diego was warmly welcomed by Nicholas Rudaz, CEO of Franck Muller, before embarking on an exclusive journey behind the scenes to discover the remarkable craftsmanship and expertise involved in creating a Franck Muller timepiece.

During his visit, Diego explored the fascinating journey behind each Franck Muller timepiece, from the first spark of creative inspiration to the extraordinary precision and craftsmanship of its final execution.

A highlight of the visit was Diego’s time with Patrice Couston, Franck Muller’s Master Watchmaker, who offered a fascinating glimpse into the exceptional technical expertise, precision and craftsmanship behind some of the Maison’s most complex movements.

A particularly memorable moment for Diego was spending time with Jean-Loup Glénat, Head Designer at Franck Muller, enjoying a personal exchange that offered him a unique first-hand insight into the creativity, inspiration and vision behind the brand’s distinctive timepieces.

The exchange was particularly meaningful as Jean-Loup presented Diego with a special timepiece created especially for him. From the first sketches and initial concepts to the study of proportions, colours, materials and technical details, Jean-Loup shared how each design develops step by step, combining creativity with the technical requirements of fine watchmaking.

For this personal project, Diego worked around the Vanguard Wave, bringing Diego's own identity into one of Franck Muller’s most distinctive designs. The watch features the brand’s famous tonneau-shaped case, while the use of carbon gives the piece a stronger, sportier character that naturally reflects Diego’s world of motorsport.

The design was further personalised with a striking colour palette inspired by the Paraguayan flag, paying tribute to Diego’s roots while giving the timepiece a deeply personal and unmistakably unique character.
